The Küberit KW range covers three jobs on a wall: corner guards that take the impact on exposed corners, edge trim that finishes a wall covering cleanly, and aluminum baseboard where the wall meets the floor. What the Küberit range lists as skirting is what most US specifications call baseboard. KW-C is the pre-fit version, installed with the wall covering; KW-D and KW-E are retrofit profiles for finished walls. An aluminum baseboard is specified where the base of the wall takes impact and frequent cleaning — corridors, back-of-house areas, and any interior where cart traffic runs along the wall.
Two KW profiles are made with a predetermined bending point: KW-H, a pre-fit exterior corner profile with a rounded edge, and KW-I, a pre-fit interior corner. The profile is bent on site to the angle the wall actually has, which is useful where corners are not exactly square or where a run has to follow a curve.
Wall protection is usually specified to disappear into the wall or to match a design scheme. Finishes include anodized aluminum in silver, sand, bronze and titanium, polished and brushed options, wood decors, and powder coating in almost any RAL color — which is how the profile gets matched to a paint or panel color on healthcare, education and retail projects. The standard length is 2.50 meters (approximately 8' 2-1/2").
