Which Ramp Profile Do You Need?

A ramp profile — in the US more often called a floor reducer — bridges a height difference between two floor coverings with a slope instead of a step. That takes the trip hazard out of the transition and lets wheeled traffic roll across it. Two questions decide which Küberit KR profile fits: what you are installing, and whether the floor is already down.

Pre-Fit or Retrofit?

Pre-fit profiles are set while the floor is being laid, so the profile sits flush and the fixing stays out of sight. Retrofit profiles are made for floors that are already finished and are fitted over the existing transition. Küberit KR-A, KR-F, KR-G, KR-H, KR-I and KR-J are pre-fit; KR-B, KR-C, KR-D and KR-E are retrofit.

Küberit ramp profiles are designed for heavy commercial applications, particularly where wheeled carts are in use — retail floors, healthcare corridors, warehouses and back-of-house areas. Finishes include anodized aluminum in silver, sand, bronze and titanium, polished and brushed options, wood decors, and powder coating in almost any RAL color. The standard length is 2.50 meters (approximately 8' 2-1/2").
