The two terms are often used interchangeably, but they do different jobs. Floor molding covers the joint where the floor meets the wall. Floor trim — the category KO-Original belongs to — finishes and protects the exposed edge of the floor covering itself: where two floors of different heights meet, where a floor ends at a doorway, or where an edge would otherwise be left open. Because that edge takes the wear, KO profiles are made from aluminum and stainless steel rather than wood or MDF.
Every KO profile is a metal edge trim. Finishes include anodized aluminum in silver, sand, bronze and titanium, polished and brushed options, wood decors, and powder coating in almost any RAL color. The standard length is 2.50 meters (approximately 8' 2-1/2"). Installation depends on the profile and the subfloor: countersunk and screwed, self-adhesive, or with the anchoring leg embedded directly into the setting material.
